PRISON BREAK : PASTA SPECIAL

Talkie – Paprika Sauce Pasta
Theatre – @leopoldcafemumbai

Box office Rating – 4 stars
Cast – Fussili with spiked Papirika cream sauce

Review:-You know every movie takes a figment of another movies soul, to make its own identity. This movie is one of its kind, a visual treat because I personally haven’t heard of a story like this.
The story revolves around 3 characters Sir Fusili Pasta, convict Ms. Paprika and Cream sauce who is a fine Indian gentleman. Set in pre independence India, this love story shines from the shackles of British rule and social chaos.
Ms Papirika is an established, pungent and strong freedom fighter, who after being jailed lost her faith, liveliness and vigour. The state has granted her a lawyer Refined and fair Mr. Cream Sauce, who during his visits tried to smoothly and subtly bring out the popular flavours of Ms Paprika, but all his attempts failed.
Just when you wish for a miracle in the storyline, enters the new commander Chief of the prison; Sir Fusilli Pasta, a kind, jovial and secretly pro Indian independence supporter.
He plays catalyst to Paprika and Cream Sauce’s love story and provides ways and means to bind the two lovers together.
By the end of the film, the three form a beautiful team which becomes the most talked about prison break love story of Indian independence.

Review – This is a short film about the ancestors of cold coffee. In the good old days, cold coffees were simple, classy and cold. They were loved by all , as they taught people to love, stay happy and would lift peoples spirits. But they were also called the Devil for a few people who would spread hatred and fear. These few people who had special dark powers, started destroying and killing cold coffees, which led to the lack of coffee lovers. Adoring a coffee studded white whipped cream crown, equipped to destroy the dark powers single handily with his unique weapon called Chocolate. HUNGER GAMES

Talkie – Cheese French Fries
Theatre- Mafco
Box office Rating- 2.5 Stars

Cast – Cheese, Potato French fries and Tomato ketchup.

Review – It’s a period war film between Hunger and Milk Cheese. Amongst all the Cheese warriors the most fierce and skill full was the Classic white milk cheese. He was most famous for his french army of hot yellow potato fries, known for their skills to fight in any condition.
The movie is filled with brutal ketchup scenes and extremely cheesy plot twists and turns. Too cheesy if you ask me.
Now does Cheese manage to hail victorious against Hunger, along with his crispy and oily French Fry army is something the director has left for the viewer to decide.
Personally we feel it is a bit too cheesy, but is definitely pocket friendly. And being the only theatre at Worli seaface, you don’t really have an option.

THE SAILOR

Talkie – Roasted Mushroom Burger
Theatre – @thechocolateheaven_mumbai
Ticket Price – Rs.270

Box office Rating – 2
Cast – Mushroom roasted patty stuffed with cheese and spread of chilli mayo, tomatoes and buns

Review – Oh! Everything about this film just screams ‘Wrong’.

Even if the plot is simple, it fails to sail through till the end. The story is about a team of 12 members who are out in the sea on Ship Bun to catch a mighty Mushroom Patty for the fine and prized cheese that is stuffed in its belly.

As a viewer you assume, these 12 characters are going to play a crucial role in their mission but Ten minutes in the movie ten of the 12 passengers die making it clear the main characters are The little miss chilli mayo and hook master Tomato.
They have to now survive on an isolated Ship Bun hoping the Mighty Mushroom Patty doesn’t consume them alive. The film is a roller coaster ride of crunchy lettuce waves slashing against the crispy Bun walls, and amazing encounters with the Mushroom Patty. Will the Bun ship hold it long enough to make land or will it get consumed in the Mighty Mushrooms cheesiness.

GIN -THE MASTER

Talkie – Flambéed Pizza (flahm-beyd): Thai Fiesta
Theatre – @pizzabythebay

WhatsApp Image 2018-11-19 at 4.40.47 PMTicket Price – Rs. 1450

Box office ratings – 4.5 (Point 5 for the grand entry performance the gin, and the brilliance in its choreography)

Cast- Thai style marinated paneer( cottage cheese), zucchini, olives, jalapenos and flamed gin.

Review – You know, when a film is made by Quentin Tarantino, it is going to be a 110 % rollercoaster ride with great performances and fun entries and dialogues. Similarly when you hear Pizza by the Bay, you know it is going to be one sensational Pizza. This time the latest release is The Flambéed Pizza -Thai Fiesta which simply translates to ‘served in flaming liquor’.
This film is a fast paced Italian action film, filled with good looking characters that are culturally diverse.
The inclusion of the Indian style paneer ( cottage cheese)  seems slightly forced but worked well for the movie. The Jalapenos and olives played their pungent part very well and complimented the cheesiness of the entire narrative. Coming to the hero of this film, the flaming gin; this was the highlight of this film. Right from the word go, it held the film together and made it worth the money spent.
Coming to the Spoilers – Throughout the film there are 3 things that will impress you about the Hero and that is Gin’s entry; it is grand and you will reach out for your phone to make a memory of it, second is when you watch the gin blend in with all that gorgeous cheese, the romance between the two is scintillating and third is the climax, when you pull out that first cheese slice and see the gin oozing out of that bread, is when you forget all those irrelevant characters in the film and dive into the flaming romance.
Overall, the film is a visual treat; it definitely scores additional points for the novelty and presentation of the pizza. Don’t forget to burn your tongue a bit because you don’t see a Flambéed Pizza release every Friday, so enjoy the experience.

THE HOUSE OF SPAGHETTI

Talkie – Spaghetti Meatballs
Theatre – @grandmamascafe
Ticket Price – Rs. 375
Box Office Rating – 4 Stars.
Cast – Chicken meatballs tossed in homemade tomato sauce and spaghetti pasta with smoked paprika flakes

Review – A period film about the legendary House of Spaghetti from Italy. The film has all the key characters King Spaghetti, Queen Tomato Sauce, Princess Basil, princess Parmesan and princess Paprika. What is so different about the film is that, it shares the unsaid tale and the scandalous relationship the three princess shared with the three meatball sons of the local butcher. Today the house of Spaghetti is known for its legendary alliance with the Meatball family but the story is quite interesting of how 3 commoner meatballs, sons of a butcher, paved their way into the royal house of Spaghetti. This is a definite watch and I haven’t found any other film based on the royal Spaghetti family that quite does the magic like this one.

THE CONICAL TWIST

Talkie – Farm Fresh Conical Twist
Theatre – The Conical Twist
Ticket Price – Rs. 150
Box Office Rating – 2.5 Stars.

Cast – Cheese, Pizza sauce, baby corn.
Review –
Whenever you talk of cone films, instantly ‘Ice creams’ pops up in one’s mind. But this short film is about the man who dared to do something different. A single father, who is scientist, is completely obsessed with the Pizza and his obsession starts to affect the lives of him and his children.
He begins to use the Pizza and all its ingredients in every meal he prepares. His beloved invention of the Pizza with a Twist takes form, when one of his 3 kids demand for an ice cream over the regular Pizza they have been fed for the past few months. Feeling guilty for imposing his love for pizza on his children the scientist started to make the cones for the ice cream and ‘ Eureka’ he chose to pour molten cheese, diluted pizza sauce, concentrated vinegar, elements of onion and baby corn all together in that cone instead of an ice cream.
When he presented it to his children they knew it wasn’t the ice cream they asked for but knowing their father was excited they indulged in his conical twist. Like all inventions, this one has its loop holes. The vinegar honestly could have had a smaller role to play, but it is a definite one time watch.
