BLOODY MURDER

Talkie – Truffle pizza
Theatre – augustcafe.in

Ticket Price – Rs 520
Box office Rating – 2.5 stars

Cast – cream sauce , truffle oil, exotic mushrooms and rosemary onions

Review – A murder mystery, that has all the right ingredients but unfortunately is missing something.
Two earthy and shinny girls; rosemary onion and exotic mushroom, plan a bachelor trip to Cream Sauce Angeles, for their soft and sweet, Bae Bread who gets murdered by an overdose of truffle oil.
The movie looks beautiful because of such a flavorful cast and creamy destination. But sadly the story offers nothing more than the independent flavors of these distinguished ingredients. They fail to form a perfect balance and leave you slightly disappointed.
I am sure the intent, was to make a film which had both beauty and the brilliance of a gripping murder mystery but you’d rather choose a different genre pizza at August Cafe.

Surprise an old friend.
Studying in a boarding school meant waiting for letters every weekend from your loved ones. One didn’t have the luxury, of staying connected with friends and family, every second of the day like we do today. But somehow we forged stronger bonds then, we valued time with friends more and we listened to each other more.
Today that distance has diminished but so have the friendships.
So today pick up your phone and send something tasty to an old friend, far far away. 47322742_354119818719063_5228379593408249856_n

Enjoy surprising a stranger with something tasty.

Mumbai is a fast and a fun city.
My first time here 10 years back was an experience I will never forget.
My first local train saffar.
In the span of 30 minutes, I had never before come in contact with so many people and so many stories at once.
Being an avid observer and sucker for stories, I couldn’t but eve strop through the various interactions in the train.
And My biggest learning in those 30 minutes, which I am sure anyone who has travelled in a train will vouch for, is that everyone in that 30 minutes journey is simply looking for a moment of peace.
So before we strike off another day till New Years, let’s share a tasty something with a stranger, it could be in the train, in office or any public place.

Treat someone with chocolates.
My father is in Marketing, which required him to travel most part of the week.
So after every weekly tour , when Papa would come home, i would pounce on him and it was time to frisk every pocket of Papa’s to find one chocolate hiding somewhere.
Amongst the many fond memories I have of my childhood, I hold this one closest.
I think there is something super special when someone surprises you with chocolates.
So Jaldi Jaldi before we get closer to the new year , treat someone with a chocolate.

PAINT ME SOMETHING SPICY

Talkie Name – Ashok Vada Pav AKA Kirti Vada Pav
Talkie – Ashok Vada Pav

Ticket Price – Rs. 25
Box office ratings – 4 Stars.

Cast – Bread as Pav, Potato Patty as Vada, Fried Crumbs as Chura, Green paste as Tikhkhi Chatni and Dates paste as Mithi Chatni.

Review – This is a beautiful animated film about Ashok Vada Pav.
Many years ago, there were giants who ruled the land of Prabhadevi. These gigantic were called ‘The Pav’.
The Pavs had to regularly be fed with the potato Vada to gain energy in order to fight Hunger.
But eventually, these giants got bored feeding on the potato vadas and refused to eat, which made them weaker.
That’s when Mr. Ashok a young chef from Prabhadevi came up with a plan. He told the people that the potato vada is a staple diet for the Pavs and that should be untouched but what they should do is, to add something to the Vada.
He demonstrated the plan, with some boiling oil and Channa batter, he invented ‘The Churra’ ; these were small and crisps channa batter fried in hot oil.
From that day till date the Pav and people not only from Prabhadevi but around the world were completely content and safe from Hunger. This is a must watch guys, do not miss it for the world.
